It is a piece of art made from Cecchetto clay. The outside is decorated with the artist's fingers to try to find a particular effect that would be a perfect mix between the Raku, opaque, and translucent crystalline. The fingers on the outside edge represent the 'profane' part of the piece, while the inside is the 'sacred' part. It is fragile for fireclay, so taking it by the edges is inadvisable. There are just a few millimetres of material on the bottom, so hold this piece with special care. The Raku on this piece of art was particularly lucky on the inside because the thin thickness of the edge held up to the expansion of the crystalline and the thermal shock generated by the Raku.
